Not her best not her worst a good pop album the best tracks were all released as singles.

madonna exploded on the 80s with this album, esteeped in controversy, laying performance on thick in her videos, helping her become the #2 artist of the decade (behind jacko). The hits on this disc are pretty big. Those include the title track, "material girl", "dress you up", "angel" and "into the groove", the last included on the 1985 issue which i'm basing my ranking and rating off of.

what a schizophrenic person. on the one hand all this body-conscious shallowness, on the other hand the super smart fighter for human rights. the songs on this record are mainly dully synth pop songs.

Why isn't this higher? This is when Madonna hit her stride, keeping up until Like a Prayer. This album made her a superstar.
