Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Recently bought the vinyl reissue on Gnome Life after listening to it for a while on a poorly-ripped mp3 copy I downloaded from the 'net. And it sounds absolutely gorgeous. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to appreciate the beauty and emotions that leaps off Basho's guitar strings, and even if his vocal talent leaves something to be desired (think like a gruff Antony from Antony & The Johnsons after smoking 40 Rothmans) the rawness fits the music perfectly. One of my favourite BEA finds - kudos to Meccalecca for helping bring Basho's wonderful music into my life.
