“Well this was a rather interesting album. American primitivism with possibly some Eastern musical influences. Finger picking accoustic guitar that at times went places I didn't expect, and an almost operatic voice (without the perfectionism or pretentiousness) that sounded real and spiritual.…”

Recently bought the vinyl reissue on Gnome Life after listening to it for a while on a poorly-ripped mp3 copy I downloaded from the 'net. And it sounds absolutely gorgeous. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to appreciate the beauty and emotions that leaps off Basho's guitar strings, and even if his vocal talent leaves something to be desired (think like a gruff Antony from Antony & The Johnsons after smoking 40 Rothmans) the rawness fits the music perfectly. One of my favourite BEA finds - kudos to Meccalecca for helping bring Basho's wonderful music into my life.
