Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.1/100, a mean average of 75.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.0.

Has not stood up particularly well to my ears, rarely listen to it except with guests from back then...
One of the best albums of '69. John Cipollina is on great form, ably supported by Gary Duncan, but the album doesn't really fire on all cylinders throughout to be considered a masterpiece.
pretty great. improvised jazzy bluesy guitar and classic rock and roll
Momentos de puro brilho, mas não mto regular.
I love quicksilver, and this is a great album.
Great psychedelic almost instrumental album. Parts of the music on side two could fit a cowboy movie, given the drama created between the guitar and rhythm section. Perhaps this was intended looking at the rear off the sleeve artwork and text. It offers something different to a lot of the psychedelia around at the time. I like it and don't find it boring as some do.
Their second best album behind their debut.
Horrendous. Two stars would be generous. Stunned by how far out into boring this goes. And I'm a jam band enthusiast. The so-called songs on the second side are a joke.
For those of us that love guitar rock. this is essential. Cippolina is a wizard. A true psychedelic rock masterpiece.
Recorded live, happy trails, is a great bluesy rock record. It's very good but sometimes I'm urging the band to really go for it and they frustratingly hold back. Still, can't argue with the quality of music. Good stuff.
