Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Nice to see the inclusion of so much RnB/Soul music. Most 60's charts are dominated by Jazz and Psychedelic Rock albums. This one reminds people there were a lot of great, and often overlooked, albums from the soul artists of that time.

Wow - over a quarter of your chart is devoted to just 5 American soul/r&b artists - Redding, Pickett, Wilson, Wonder & Cooke. Kudos for wearing your heart on your sleeve.

Space Oddity at three, very good pick, the album usually loses out to such bigger names and albums. Glad to see it here

Tim Buckley has become a recent favourite of mine, and I haven't considered listening to Blue Afternoon yet. I'll give that one a shot next.
I'm surprised you've only heard about 45 albums from the 60's (or is that just how many you own?). I'm sure you'll be able to find a few more albums from the decade that you'll enjoy.
