Great soul album with a distinctive vocals by Curtis and tight overall sound, make this a mandatory listen.

I love that they put much more sadness in this one. The social commentary (that's already evident from the cover) lands that much harder this way.

Not on par with Superfly... but then again, what is? I think Mayfield may have struggled to reach the lofty expectations established.

A step up from his 2 previous albums both released in 1974 (Sweet Exorcist & Got to Find A Way) There's No Place .... explores the social divide in the U.S.A. in the 50's as well as gun violence (Billy Jack) and love (So In Love) one of Curtis's best love songs. Other great songs are Blue Monday People & Jesus.
One of Curtis Mayfield's best albums. There's no place, is another seventies classic when Curtis was at the top of his game and releasing great LP's. Some great tracks here in, Billy Jack, so in love, and, Jesus. Curtis Mayfield was one of the best artists of the sixties and seventies.
