Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 63.1/100, a mean average of 62.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 62.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 21.0.

It's alright, but there's not much interesting here beyond the singles. Fallen Angel and Every Rose Has Its Thorn are great. Nothin' But A Good Time is OK, and Your Mama Don't Dance is a decent cover. The rest of it is thoroughly mediocre hair rock.

This was the first vinyl album I bought with my own money. Not much street cred with this pretty awful album but I thoroughly enjoyed it as a 14 year old and it has nostalgic importance only to me now which gives it a pass mark.

Ridiculous and very little depth, but perfectly serviceable glam metal/pop metal. Don't expect anything more. Poison's best album, and "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", "Nuthin but a Good Time" and "Mama Don't Dance" are well-produced tracks.

There are some albums that may not be that great but for one reason or another find a place in a listeners heart. This is one of those albums for me. I was young, life was crappy and this provided a good escape to an 11 year old me.

Poison's 2nd album is a continuation of their 1st still a lot of fun with a lot of big hits as well.

Ridiculous as hell, and totally Silly, but a lot of fun if you switch your brain of first. Terrible, but enjoyable.

This band is a guilty pleasure for me. Kind of like eating popcorn slathered in butter, drinking a orange crush and watching a bad horror movie. You know you shouldn't but you just can't look away....

This is very good glam hair metal. No, it's not deep, but it's quite entertaining. CC Deville shows off his sub-EVH chops on some songs (like "look but you can't touch"). "Open Up.." also contains their only #1, the power ballad "every rose has its thorn" -- wish all of my songs about strippers were as good. (Power ballads were really the only hair metal #1s, even in hair metal's glory days.) This fun album (with a cool "your mama don't dance" cover) and "look what the cat dragged in" proves poison was probably the #4 hair metal act behind def leppard, bon jovi and motley crue. (Of course, i'm not counting VH & GnR as hair metal.)

Before I was full into music and had no idea and was very young hair metal seemed like a good idea. However hindsight says what the hell were you thinking listening to this! So much hate for this album .......because its crap! I acan appreciate them for what they are....rubbish. Dear me. Every rose has it's thowern.
