The Soundpool albums are interesting for their unusual "dancegaze" (sometimes even called "discogaze") approach of recording atmospheric/noisy shoegaze textures over funky basslines and drum tracks. Other bands have since tried this too, but Soundpool was probably the first. What's especially interesting about this album is that after track 6, "I'm So Tired," they apparently decide they're tired of this approach and they become the Stargazer Lilies for the first time, mid-album, for two tracks before returning to dancegaze on track 9 ("Listen").
