My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (studio album) by Kanye West

I still can't listen to this album. I have tried it like 3 times and still no dice. The once is good enough for me

The over-production kills this album for me.

I can always listen to this album and love it. I can't really give something higher praise.

I haven't listened to a ton of hip hop, but this is easily one of the greatest albums in the genre that I've heard so far. I'll just say this, if you're looking for an album packed with clever wordplay, deep metaphors, and overall stunning lyrical content, you're not really gonna get that here (except for the song Gorgeous, that song is a lyrical masterpiece) There a lot of really questionable lines on this album. But that's not what the album excells at. The star aspect of this album is the way it sounds. The production is some of the greatest I've ever heard on any album ever, in particular the songs Dark Fantasy, Power, Devil In A New Dress, and Lost In The World feature absolutely stunning production. Thumping drums, lucious melodies, beautiful samples. I especially love the use of guitars on the album. The obvious stand out track is Runaway, those last three minutes are breathtakingly beautiful. Though I think Devil In A New Dress is my personal favorite track. That guitar solo followed by arguably the best verse on the album, and then for it to lead into Runaway is easily the greatest moment on the album to me. The only hip hop album with better production imo is To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar. This album deserves all the praise it gets.

A pretty great rap album. The first half didnt really do it for me. However, once ai hit Devil in A new dress, I really started to get down to it. I can appreciate the entire album as a masterpiece in rap, despite my biases

A (no pun intended) monster of an album. Egregiously grandiose.

Game-changing album. It doesn't excel at what you expect from a hip-hop album. The rapping is average, the lyrics are good - but not great. Still, it is one of the greatest hip-hop albums, even appreciated and enjoyed by people who have nothing to do with the genre. If there has been one must-listen album the last 10 years, then this is it.

Happy 10 year anniversary to the most iconic (and perhaps greatest) album of the 2010s!

I like the album. It certainly is well produced, has good rapping, and has nice beats. However, the first half just didn't really do it for me. I hate to say that it was boring, but it was. The second half is great, and my favorite song is devil in a new dress.
