Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. The Brothers at the top of their game. Soulful and funky, this is a great record.

Love "time has come today", you are correct, they are closer to Funkadelic...
I also checked this one out after seeing ffud's chart. Touchstone for me is the Chambers Brothers' "Time Has Come Today", which I like, but the rock guitar inches closer to Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain". Good stuff.

I am so glad that you like it, everything about it is perfect..it has the slow side and the funky side and Ronald Isley voice is heaven sent. also the Ernie Isley has the most incredible guitar solo on "Hope you feel better love'..Jimi Hendrix played with them in the early 60s and Ernie's guitar solo sounds every bit as good as hendrix. 247joelnetwork, your comment is hilarious.

Every morning, I get down on my knees and thank God that Ronald Isley was born. His performance alone on "Sensuality" puts this album as one of the greatest ever. So perfectly written. Rock stations at the time had very broad playlists..The Album oriented Rock station in Cincinnati at the time included "Sensuality" on their playlist...so you could hear Pink Floyd("Time"), Tom Waits("Tom Traubert's blues"), Isley Brothers("Sensuality"), Joni Mitchell("Cactus Tree"), Beatles("Helter Skelter"), Stooges("I wanna be your dog"), etc...really miss that kind of radio.
