A fantastic display of vocal talents by Sarah Vaughan that really separates her from the crowd as an extremely unique vocalist. The control she has over her voice is mesmerising and it shines on every single track on this album. She really drags you into this nightclub feel with her forcing you into this atmosphere she has crafted. The piano is strong in places as well and does a fantastic job in allowing her voice to shine whilst also not overpowering the songs. However, the album does struggle a little in terms of the instrumentation with it feeling quite bare and empty at times. The record relies to heavy on the vocal and if you remove it then you would be extremely bored due to the lack of experimentation and lack of sound in general. Overall, the music lets Sarah Vaughan down and if she was backed better this could be a sensational album.

She sounds great, but the looseness was almost too much for me.
Short and sweet album. Vaughan's vocals are a delight throughout. Wonderful recording.
Just a lady with an incredible voice,and a piano at an intimate setting. The type of record that makes me wish I was there.
Easy go-to favorite.
