Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 16% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.2/100, a mean average of 72.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.2.

a little folk a little rock many good covers

I like Rod well enough and he knows how to pick decent songs, but I'm not sure a nearly-Grateful-Dead-length It's All Over Now is earned here.
Another fine Rod Stewart record. Gasoline alley, is not quite as consistent or as good as, every picture, but it features some fine songs. Only a hobo, cut across shorty and the title track are the pick of the bunch. Earthy, you can almost smell the smoke from the chimneys. Good stuff.
A good record by a great rock singer.
I consider I don't want to discuss it as the best track on this album. But i don't want to discuss that consideration.
'Gasoline Alley' the best track here,'It's All Over Now' sounds like a typical 'Faces' number good version however,'Cut Across Shorty' being the other best track on the album.

The 2nd solo effort from Rod and one of his best. Gasoline Alley is solo Rod but you can still hear the influence of The Faces. The best tracks are the title track Cut Across Shorty & You're My Girl. Overall a solid 80/100
Best Track: Cut Across Shorty
