A superb Little Feat album. A southern fried blues'n'country fest with Lowell George on top form throughout. I always think of, sailin' shoes, as part of a trilogy with, Dixie chicken, and, feats don't fail me now. There are some excellent tracks here. Cold,cold,cold, cat fever, and the best version of, willin', one of the greatest songs ever, the album is a classic for that song alone. Little Feat were one of the best bands of the seventies and they deserve a lot more credit and attention.
So many great songs. So many.
And it finishes with my favorite line of theirs:
"'Cause outside my hotel window is a sign that turns from red to green
It says 'chop suey' and 'join the U.S. Marines'..."
Good album that sags a little bit in the second half with some so-so blues, but there's plenty of energy in the first half to save it. Willin' and Easy to Slip in particular are excellent songs; Cold Cold Cold and Teenage Nervous Breakdown are also great. Worth putting on once in a while.
