It's certainly an odd album that never quite finds itself. By turns pompous and wistful, verging into the bloated 70's rock of the The Who and Led Zep that punk was meant to over turn, it certainly was not what fans of their earlier singles were expecting or wanted to hear. But there is real musicality in there. Lyrically it's a bit odd as well with a song about erections, and another about ejaculate.

The Soup Dragons had already released a handful of brilliant Buzzcocks influenced singles (check the compilation Hang Ten) before the release of this their debut album. Really disappointing album although it does contain the wonderful 'Soft As Your Face' which is the only real highlight here.
