This is a perfect example that sometime less is more. A few artists can capture the naive nature of their first recordings after a long-time career, and Numan achieve it. Ok, it's sounds like a bunch of demos, but after the terrible run of overproduced albums since mid-80's, this album feels like a fresh breath of air. The sad part of this release it's that Numan get stuck in this era until 2006, so if you don't like "Sacrifice", maybe you'll hate the next 3 albums. Anyway, Numan says that he pretend to re-record and re-release "Sacrifice", "Exile" and "Pure". I don't thing it will be a good idea because the soul of "Sacrifice" lays in his lo-fi quality and lyrics, so the idea sounds like putting a "reduce noise" filter to the album "Alien Lanes" by "Guided By Voices". I hope get wrong.
