Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by Helios (2018)

Hi, welcome to my charts!
I say i'll edit this chart when I finish all others, and the day finally it's here!
Now I want to say how I rate albums, and it's based in a simply math operation:

"Total tracks of the album" minus "tracks I like" divided by "Total tracks of the album" and the result it's multiplied by 100

This give me a % which I will use to put the album inside of the next ranges:

100|All the songs are good
95|Just 1 song it's bad
90|[15-29%]
85|[30-39%]
80|[40-49%]
75|[50-59%]
70|[60-75%]
65|[76-and low]

[Example: [1991] Queen - Innuendo
A total of 12 songs and I like 9.
12-9=3/12=0.25*100=[25%]
[25%] it's inside the [15-29%] range, so I should rate it "90"]

Exeptions: Short albums (Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells), short songs (The Gerogerigegege - Tokyo Anal Dynamite), nearly empty tracks (Sly & The Family Stone - There's A Riot Goin' On) and compilations (Any Greatest Hits)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Completing all the charts from 1950 to 2017 took me about 2 years, so it's made with a lot of love.
I will continue editing the charts while I keep listening to new albums.
Thanks for your ratings and comments!
C-ya!

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 6% of charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a mean average rating of 85.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 87.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 15.5.

Really nice and diverse chart. Tons of interesting picks on here. Music from the Penguin Café is a really special album. I also love the later Johnny Cash albums and American IV is my favorite.

Love this chart! MUCC, Vangelis, Depeche Mode, The Cure... the list goes on! A great and varied chart full of surprises (Penguin Cafe Orchestra, anyone?). Must check out a couple of the recommendations. Will be re-visiting this chart for signposts to future listening. Keep up the good work.

I really dig the synth pop picks, and love to see some love for James Brown. I’m looking forward to exploring the rest.

It's a great chart, the ones that I know on here. Very eclectic mix of nationalities, so many countries here. Some very interesting picks. Good to see Out of The Blue by ELO. Hello to you in Chile!

What a unique and diverse chart! Though I'm not personally a huge believer in rating albums by aggregating their track scores (I often find myself loving certain tracks within the context of an album, but without their surroundings more difficult to enjoy) I'm hugely impressed with the diverse nationalities present. Well done!!
