I've softened on this album since it came out, there isn't a wide range of quality here, nothing excellent, nothing awful. I would argue that this may well still be their worst album, though it is often switched with 'Stay on These Roads' or 'Minor Earth Major Sky' which may not be as consistent, but they also have some absolute classics on them, I can't say the same for 'Cast in Steel'.
The best tracks are the opening four (Especially the title track), "Giving up the Ghost" (Perhaps my favourite) and "Living at the End of the World".
The only weak track here is "Shadow Endevours", which is not good. Not a bad effort, but not their best at all.
