Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.1/100, a mean average of 72.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.9.

This album is truly amazing, it is hard to choose a favourite a-ha album but this has some of my favourite tracks of all time. Train of thought is stunning song..

some strong (and commercially successful) songs here, but also quite a handful of uninspired fillers.
One of the best synth pop/rock albums of all time. This sits at the top of my synth pop/rock tree with Alphaville 'Forever Young' and Thomson Twins 'The Gap'. The music here as with the other two albums is much more than pop. You only have to listen to the instrumentation to hear this. As an added bonus I have a mint copy on clear vinyl!
One of the best Synthpop albums. Take On Me is a great song but it has been played to death. Train Of Thought, Hunting High and Low, The Sun Always Shines On TV and Love Is Reason are my favorites
One of the most stunning debut albums ever.
