This whole project was such a cool concept: write a songbook and encourage others to record their interpretation of each song on YouTube. It seems so democratic, so collaborative, so communal... Now having professional artists record an album of this work may seem contrary to the vision of this project, but it works. The different voices and styles lend real diversity to this album, while still seeming to stick to a central tone or even story. It's almost like a Broadway soundtrack. Maybe it should be...?
