Drinking game: take a shot everytime Martin references going up or flying or any kind of ascending.

A Ghost Of X&Y To The Head Full Of Dreams Or Mylo Xyloto And All His Parachutes was a pretty Coldplay sounding Coldplay.
Coldplay in this album, Coldplay the Coldplay out of their Coldplays. Other great Coldplay that you can give to Coldplay, is their Coldplay to Coldplay. The Coldplay was great, the Coldplay and the Coldplay was also very Coldplay and Coldplay...
I give it a solid Coldplay/10

Chris Martin have said that he no more cares if people think their music is great or not. Well, it is sadly not great anymore.

I mean, pretty average. It's pretty hard for me to place it anywhere to be honest, IDK where I stand with it. Doesn't really sound a like a Coldplay album, which should be a good thing, but it's not. Generic pop structure on every song, and lyrics are pretty direct on most songs. Overall flow is pretty okay, with some stupid and good listings. From a general listener view, I think it lacks that song that Coldplay fans can respect from every album (at least from the last two albums, and don't get me wrong, I loved MX) such as Major Minus and Oceans / Midnight. Kaleidoscope is one of their most experimental songs to be honest, so I'm proud of that, sucks that it's an interlude.
Birds reminds me of Arcade Fire for some reason. X Marks the Spot could of been much better, and it doesn't really fit on the album (I was looking forward to that song the most too!). It has pretty bad lyrics and crappy hooks. Very out of place IMO.
Up & Up a pretty good closer. Very good song to fit in the album that came after GS.
Amazing Day is the highlight of the album though. A new track mixed with hints of my favourite Coldplay song - Strawberry Swing - and Always in my Head.
Sigh, If only they made an album like the song Midnight, that would be frickin awesome.
Best tracks: Birds, Adventure of a Lifetime, Fun, Kaleidoscope, Amazing Day, Up & Up

It's the same as Ghost Stories, a few good/decent songs, mostly meh stuff and some songs that leave you wondering if Coldplay really could've made this (Hymn for the Weekend is probably the worst Coldplay song ever). Unremarkable album, but I really wasn't expecting any better.
Birds is a pretty good song, so is Army of One. The title song starts great but the ending is kinda weak, still a good song, in all.
Up&Up is my biggest disappointment, though, for a Coldplay/Noel collaboration I was expecting something memorable and it's just a boring, unremarkable song
