Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 6% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.6/100, a mean average of 75.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.8.

Album of the year, 1988
El mayor supergrupo de la historia del rock.
The first and last songs are really great but what makes the album is the overall sound and tone which is just fun. We need more music like this.
Learned about them in a contemporary class for Rock'N'roll history in Cegep and bought this record. I definitely don't regret it. It's nothing epic but it's definitely a fun album by a group of legends.

This was a fun album!
A fun records by a group made up of legends in a time where music wasn't at it's best.
It's what you'd expect from a group of class musicians (and Jeff Lynne) coming together to make music. Good songs, quite fun, nothing special. Bet they enjoyed making it.
Underrated gem made by 5 legends.

This album captures the best of true legends in rock music history. The album is solid from the opening Handle With Care to the positive vibe of End of the Line. My fav tracks are Last Night and Tweeter and the Monkey man which I was fortunate enough to see Tom Petty do a great epic version of it. A must album!

Spritely enthusiasm from these 5 man superstars. Nearly fulfills the hype that surrounds this release. The harmonies are what distinguish this from other rock albums of the 80s-90s. I feel Petty is somewhat the weak link here.
