Not a lot of EP's make my decade lists, as they're often little more than teasers for upcoming albums, motley collections of outtakes and alternate (usually inferior) versions of songs, and shameless attempts to squeeze just a little more money out of fans. Bringing in the Darlings is none of these. It's a thoughtfully assembled, tightly constructed, artistically coherent piece of work. And it contains several of Josh Ritter's sweetest and most tender love songs: "Love Is Making Its Way Back Home," "See Me Through," and the lullaby-esque "Can't Go to Sleep (Without You)." That this EP was released in 2012 with so little fanfare is a reminder of just how full of ideas Josh Ritter always seems to be, and how consistent his quality control is.

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
