I guess this serves as a good and accessible introduction to bossanova through some classics, but that's all, nothing too adventurous or exciting, rather safe and predictable.
I really like the simple guitar and comping. The voice makes the whole thing. And yea, you can't compare them to the originals; they are their own thing.
When I listen to this album, I try to think that these rock classics would not exist, but Bossanova has been in existence before Joy Division, Depeche Mode and Cure.
