Nothing groundbreaking, but a fun and catchy record that is much, much more than My Sharona. The lyrical content is trite and honestly pretty sexist, but ignore that (which is fairly easy to do), and it's full of great tunes. (Edited)

Sophomoric? Undoubtedly. Catchy as Hell? Hell, yes! Easily dismissed as only the idiot riff of "My Sharona" The Knack put together a near perfect combination of guitars, beats and adolescent frustration as an alt-pop confection. One of my favorites.

My Sharona is a kick-ass single with one of the greatest octave hooks of all time, and it tricked a lot of people into buying an album that would have been a zero without that single. This thing is a mess. (And yes, I bought it when it came out and still have it in the SHAME section of my collection, hanging out with Naked Eyes and The Partridge Family.)
