This is my #19 album of 2016. This album was good, however it was a let down after how great her previous album, "The Sea" was. That seemed to very much be the theme this year for many artists. Maxwell, Frank Ocean, and Mayer Hawthorne suffered the same fate, however with Mayer he had results a bit better than these other artists mentioned. They all made incredible and brilliant albums and then followed them up with good albums, but nothing particularly special. There are some stand out tracks on Corinne's album and it had a cool vibe, but there is also a bunch of filler that drags down the overall energy and punch of the album. That has also been a big problem of many albums, by artists I like. They put way to much filler on their albums. Most recently the new Weeknd album, which came out last Friday. His album was good and 18 tracks long, but if he cut out like 6-8 filler songs from the album, it would have been really killer! Instead it droned on and on, with most of the good songs front loaded and a couple sprinkled in the back half. We don't need 16-20 or more track albums. A 10 or 12 track album is great and without the filler the songs, can hit and hit and hit, without any lulls in between, dragging down the whole album. I hope artists start to learn from these mistakes for our listening pleasure and their own legacy. This album was good Corrine, but we need another classic like your first 2 albums. :)
