When it’s good it’s great, however upon going through her full catalogue I can’t help but feel that, if she let her projects breathe and gave them more time she could have one of the best pop albums in recent decades but everything feel slightly underbaked. She’s a real talent though.

A logical step prior to 2018's masterpiece 'Be The Cowboy'
One of 2016's best album with stunning centre piece track "Best American Girl"
This is where the world woke up to Mitski
Took me almost a year for this to finally connect with me-- what an immensely great album.

One of the most honest, direct and self-aware albums I have ever listened to. Its a very dejected, melancholic record.. and Mitski has created it like she's mastered the art of sadness; immersing herself in it, appreciating its subtle nuances, and then putting it away to pick up whenever she so desires. For me, its like a sister record to Teens Of Denial, both being two of my favourite albums of that year.
Oh, and Your Best American Girl is easily the best song released in 2016.
