im gonna have to disagree with you there...especially the bit about RHCP and ACDC. but to each their own. and the fact that its rated higher than those other bands with more albums just proves that its not about quantity...its about quality. and this album, in my opinion (and in the opinions of many other people on this site), is about as good as it gets.
i finnaly, could hear "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea"
it's simply amazing, now i truly believe the ones that said that "In The Aeroplane Over the sea" is one of the best albums ever, it really is, its a masterpiece

The indie hipster calling card. If you want to be seen as a sophisticated muscial elite, you must wax poetic about the beauty of this album, calling it the greatest piece or art in the 20th century. Anything less makes you a Nickleback fan.
NMH have one decent album. Mangum's voice gets a little grating. They are good, NOT best of everything great.

The 'Helpful' button should be change to 'Agree'. Half the negative votes are for comments that are helpful, but people downvote because they disagree with a negative (or moderate) comment about NMH. I like IAAOTS, but it's OK to struggle with it's brilliance. C'mon, BEA - tolerate a diversity of opinion - you're big enough to do that, no?

Didn't realize Neutral Milk Hotel had so many haters. In the Aeroplane over the Sea is by far my favorite album - it was love at first listen. I'll admit On Avery Island isn't the greatest debut, but it's a fun listen that gives a hint of the greatness to come. But still, everything about them musically projects talent and creativity. And Mangum's voice is one of the most beautiful things I've heard: complete honesty and no shame.
