Marilyn Manson is among the best rock acts in the last 25 years but we all know the band concept has been in steady decline. His image overshadowed the music at times and pissed off some lames but he has some great tunes and doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Not a big fan of the music, but I have a lot of respect for him and the band.
Mid-to-late 90s Marilyn Manson was unstoppable. With Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals he shocked the world numerous times and made society think. Unfortunately every album after The Golden Age of Grotesque (Holy Wood and GAoG are decent) went more and more downhill.

An artist has the right to change. Good or Bad changes it depends on which side you like the most, for me both times (Old/New MM) has very good stuff and very shitty stuff, as an artist either.

I don't necessarily like Manson or a lot of his music, but it did push the envelope. He pushed the envelope and was/is a very smart and seemingly educated person. The persona of "Marilyn Manson" is one America needed, though now I don't know if even he takes himself seriously as Manson anymore.
