My favorite drummer ever; it is hard to beat Krupa or Rich, but theres a special flavor and remarkable skill here. If they all were this inventive and able to carry this much groove without wandering, noone would ever have invented the drum machine, and Nile Rodgers would be an eccentric nobody.
The first album, now marketed as "Featuring Buddy Colette" is great-- "Blue Sands," "The Ghost"-- and there's an oddball album he made with Yank Lawson which is weird but wonderful, sort of Puerto Rican Dixieland; and great things from album to album elsewise.
"Forestorn" is another good one, and not just for the title track...
