Often regarded as the best latin american rock band ever, and even the best spanish language rock band ever. They earned a massive popularity all over latin america during the eighties and nineties. Because of this, they have got a legendary status in latin american rock and remain popular and influential after the decades.
All of their albums have something interesting to offer, from new wave to alternative rock, shoegaze, experimental rock, and electronic music. Their repertory is truly outstanding, they are one of those bands that have lots of good songs aside from the hits, which are also a lot!
And as if that was not enough, they were amazing live! Seriously, they were one of the best live performing bands ever, arguably better live than in studio. The recordings from the "Me Verás Volver 2007" reunion tour just prove it.
You should also take a look at Gustavo Cerati's solo work, which is diverse as well and often considered unique and even better, just that less accessible and much more experimental.
Most successful rock band in spanish language. His frontman and guitarist Gustavo Cerati is an extraordinary musician considered a patron saint of argentinian music.
If you're curious about rock in spanish language this should be your first immersion. Dismiss the ratings of the idiot hater below ;)
