Derivative of the 80s funk sound, Rick James released a near perfect trio of albums in succession - "Street Songs", "Throwin' Down" and "Cold-Blooded" - before turning in a mediocre denouement to his career. You can't go wrong by acquiring the albums listed above. Also look for James' duet with fellow Motown labelmate Teena Marie.
