While their pop hits each soared to deserved heights, The Bangles couldn't maintain that level consistently. Their harmonies were great, and each was a talented singer in her own right, but it often didn't come together as a whole. There was always haunting suspicion that session musicians actually played the band's entire music catalog, while the group only provided the vocals. So this speculation has somewhat tainted the band's reputation. Still more appealing than The Runaways!
