While I know The Band are a widely respected group, their overall sound is a little too "country" to appeal to my tastes. I like most roots rock, but I haven't been able to really get into The Band.

Richard Manuel, to me the most beautiful male voice in rock music, tragedy impending from the first moment on. And he was just one fifth of equal talents. Something burned in them, something very dark, reaching out for the light, don't know, if it ever got there, maybe for one moment in "Rags & bones" as a story of the past.
