The White Album by The Beatles and The Bends by Radiohead, listen only to the tracks you don't know (because of the Best of Radiohead) and when you like it, listen to it completely. And of course Led Zeppelin, start at the beginning and don't listen to the Best Of. I hope you like it.

to be honest, i'm not a fan of 'modern british music' per se, although i like some of your picks (oasis, amy winehouse) ..hold on, vampire weekend ain't british! can't fathom the wombats at #3 too..
