Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)

This artist is rated in the top 4% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 79.5/100, a mean average of 78.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.7/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 16.7.

The indisputable soundtrack to growing up in Britain over the last decade. Few bands come even remotely close to how perfect their nostalgic, teenagery, gritty-yet-indie sound is. I've rarely met a Monkeys fan who wasn't totally engrossed in their music, and if you spend even a few moments with the band, it's very easy to see why.

And now, with Tranquility Base, we're seeing them mature into something wholly more experimental and seminal. Really hoping we still have many, many more records to come from this brilliant band.

Possibly my favourite band. First album is so high energy and perfect. Second is pretty close too. I'm not quite as keen on Humbug but I still love it, especially the darkness of tracks like Dangerous Animal and Crying Lightening and the more emotional Cornerstone which follows through on Suck It And See which I love. AM can be a bit boring for me at times but still great song writing. Can't wait to hear their 6th album.

They kept getting more and more poppy (in a bad way), until AM. That album is so polarising it hurts. Some fantastic singles, but you listen to it twice and start exploring the layers, lyrics and songs deeper just to realise there's nothing below the surface. Still good riffs and miles better than other pop rock bands

A 79/100 for a band that has their top 20 tracks at 85+ is a little bit low, don't you think?
The albums are poorly rated too, I mean, look at the average rating of the songs inside of each album (86, 84, 84, 83, 83), and then look at the album ratings (83, 79, 78, 75, 74). That doesn't make any sense.
I'm beginning to think that people on this website hate Arctic Monkeys...

Did you know that Alex used to have a pet Capuchin, unfortunately it was very poorly behaved and needed a lot of discipline. After a couple of years of smanking his monkey he realised that the animal was beyond habitualising, so it was sent to Svalbard to live with a troop of over errant primates. This is how the band got their name.

Most of the people out there who rate them with mediocre 70's just haven't listened to Arctic Monkeys enough. The magic on their sound just grows and grows with every listen, believe me. And that's why they are probably the biggest band around these days.

WPSTWIAN (87) - Great debut. Key tracks: I Bet..., Mardy Bum, Acertain Romance.

Favourite Worst Nightmare (83) - Fine following. Key tracks: Fluorescent Adolescent, 505.

Humbug (84) - First change of style: darker and most mysterious. Key tracks: Crying Lightning, Secret Door, Cornerstone.

Suck it and See (86) - Magic, and really underrated album. Key tracks: Black Treacle, Piledriver Waltz, Suck it and See, That's Where You're Wrong.

AM (80) - Commercial mega-success. Key tracks: Do I Wanna Know?, No.1 Party Anthem (my favourite song ever!!).

First 3 albums are pretty great, especially their debut, but afterwards...,They're pretty mediocre. They have lost their charm and energy and just seem boring and even a bit pretentious.
