Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 4% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 79.4/100, a mean average of 78.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.6/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 16.7.

Decent but not great
One of the best bands of ALL time! If you like indie rock/alternative you will probably love them!!
A band very close to my heart, as I fell head-over-heels in 2013 when AM came out, and as I was 15 at the time, of course they still get the endorphins rushing every time I listen. Seeing as a new album is coming out, I've been enjoying refreshing my memory of their previous work, and I have to say, they've come a long way. Each album sounds fairly distinct from the others, but all still the Monkeys. They are not as experimental and don't take as many risks as, say, Radiohead or even a band like Wilco, but they never quite stand still, even if I do think in hindsight that AM is one of their weakest albums - fairly lazy lyrics, for one thing; still a fun listen. Whether they will stand the test of time remains to be seen, I'm not too sure yet, but their last album opened up some fascinating new avenues, and I'm excited to see where they go next.
Maybe it is my age or my heritage or how "AM" backgrounded my most significant relationship, but I love AM (the album) in ways, apparently, that most others don't. I guess that's the amazing thing about individual musical taste and why we ain't pre-programmed robots. On that album (AM) alone, Arctic Monkeys rate as one of my top 100 favourite bands.
This comment is beneath your viewing threshold.
The indisputable soundtrack to growing up in Britain over the last decade. Few bands come even remotely close to how perfect their nostalgic, teenagery, gritty-yet-indie sound is. I've rarely met a Monkeys fan who wasn't totally engrossed in their music, and if you spend even a few moments with the band, it's very easy to see why.
And now, with Tranquility Base, we're seeing them mature into something wholly more experimental and seminal. Really hoping we still have many, many more records to come from this brilliant band.
Possibly my favourite band. First album is so high energy and perfect. Second is pretty close too. I'm not quite as keen on Humbug but I still love it, especially the darkness of tracks like Dangerous Animal and Crying Lightening and the more emotional Cornerstone which follows through on Suck It And See which I love. AM can be a bit boring for me at times but still great song writing. Can't wait to hear their 6th album.
75 is a just for this band. Just good
1. Whatever people say (A certain romance)
2. Humbug (Dance little liar/ secret door)
3. Suck it and See (Piledrive waltz/ all my own stunts)
4. Favourite worst nightmare (Fluorescent adolescent/ If you were there, beware)
5. AM (Fireside, No.1 Party anthem)
