The message is unmistakable on the most apocalyptic Muse album to date: This is the end of the world! Overdramatic awesomeness is simply not found any better! Regarding the album cover, I'm not going to reveal how long it took for my little brain to realize that there was something paradoxical about the man's shadow and the other shadows. That would just be embarrassing!

Within the mystic of Steve Roach's nearly 6 hours long epic journey. Mystic chords and sacred spaces distributed on 29 pieces of infinity all spiralling in deep electronic textures. Not for the ones who suffer from short attention span!
Favourite tracks: ”Vortex Ring”, ”The Spiral of Time’s Fire Burns On” & ”Piece of Infinity” [First added to this chart: 04/18/2014]

Quiet, beautifully understated follow-up to "The Good Life". There are shades of Kashmir as a rock band, but the rockier moments usually only appear in small glimpses between all the subdued balladry. "Rocket Brothers" doesn't only stand out on this album, but might even be their biggest and most well-known song of their entire career. It's a great album, but took me much longer to appreciate than "The Good Life", a grower for sure!

If Radiohead had a double album, it would've been this. They had a lot to give of, which results in a solid collection of very strong tracks and some not quite as strong ones. Another double element of the album is the song titles: each song has two titles! Though some people claim it to be "the return of the guitar-based Radiohead", that's not at all what it is (the plug-in noises of opener "2+2=5" is pretty much the only thing that sounds like they've missed the guitars). It's just Radiohead masterfully continuing in the gloaming part of their career!

Like its successor album, "Tryshasla", a very fascinating and hypnotic ride. This is "listening/headphone music" at its core visiting quite a few contrasting moods on its way, from film noir-like atmospheres to joyful, futuristic rhythmorama and basically anything inside or outside that box!
Favourite tracks: "Return to Island CX" & "Age Tandems" [First added to this chart: 07/03/2020]

The Odyssey of Delerium continues. At this point, it's little more than just a pop album enchanted with the occassional gimmick, be it fleeting monks or scratching! And then lots of driving synths that segue into and out of much more acoustic parts. The biggest attraction would have been the actual songwriting had it not been for the gorgeous female vocals.
Favourite tracks: "Love" & "Run For It"

There's nothing too narrow here! If anything, it has a large amount of musical brilliance within a relatively short duration. Charmful, cute, catchy, folky and above all, great.

The earth is indeed not a cold dead place. A minimalist post-rock album that is beautiful in its own tranquil, uplifting yet understatedly melancholic way!

Fun and energetic enough to shake a mountain! This quirky, catchy indie rocker shouldn't refuse to amaze any Modest Mouse fan.

Go down with the ship of Dido. It's beautiful and soulful, if quite melancholic. Pop much beyond simple entertainment purposes and for me personally, instant nostalgia!
