Like someone below me said, they don't get nearly enough credit in the US. I personally think they won the Britpop battle against Oasis. Sure Leisure wasn't too good, but after that they really stepped up. Parklife, 13, and Blur were all great Britpop albums. Then Think Tank went a completely different direction but still didn't fail to disappoint. Finally, twelve years later, The Magic Whip is definitely their best album yet. Songs like Lonesome Street, Terracotta Heart, Go Out, and Pyongyang show much more maturity than earlier songs and they show promise for what might end up being an almost completely new Blur. Can't go wrong with this band.

I really don't think it's funny that Oasis is currently ranked higher than Blur.

The more that Blur recorded and played as a band, the better they were. The more they became a Damon Albarn project, the worse they were. When they were a band, they wrote intelligent, joyous, layered Brit-pop. Their 93-99 streak is much better than Oasis.
Great british band. I prefer Blur to Oasis though Oasis made two great albums, Blur has not made one bad album. Damon Albarn is a very talented person to also create Gorillaz. Blur and Gorillaz are both top quality bands.

Blur is one of greatest bands in 90's. they didn't try just one conventional pop-rock like Oasis. they try new music everytime. really underrated one.
