"I know my mother thought you were trash
I know my dad he smokes too much hash"
This is here on my all time favourites chart for a couple of reasons - nostalgia and live shows. Loving grunge in the '90s silverchair and Grinspoon where the two go to bands. This debut album was just full of great songs and got played over and over again. There is some variety here to, more than a lot of other grunge albums of the time, from heavy grunge, to thrashy grunge, to poppy grunge, and even a dash of funk and psych. They were also an incredible live band. I probably saw Grinspoon play live more times than any other band until this decade, and they always put on a fun filled energetic show
10/10 songs: Just Ace, Champion, Post Enebriated Anxiety [First added to this chart: 07/23/2017]
"All I want in life's a little bit of love to take the pain away"
Beauty and pain in a near perfect combination!
The opening title track is a stunning piece of music (the fact that my wife walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon probably contributes greatly to my love of the song, but I still think I would love it as much without that fact), and Cop Shoot Cop is one of my favourite de-evolution songs that breaks down totally, but then pieces itself together again, although in an injured way that it will never be the same again. An outstanding piece of music.
10/10 songs: Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space, & Cop Shoot Cop [First added to this chart: 07/23/2017]
