Music was so important to me at this time. Even when it had to compete with my football team getting to a European final! Concerts, vinyl, and more vinyl.

I have been to the site of the road sign on the cover, even though the original was stolen by a Smiths fan soon after the album was released.

I used to play this album so much when I first met my wife. We used to cuddle up together listening to it on repeat. I used to have a cool record player that could play both sides of an album. You could set it to repeat doing this forever.

Football and cool music rarely mixed in the 80s, so I just had to fall in love with this album.

The triffids would have been my favourite Australian band, but for the Gobetweens.

The pastels were the quintessential shambling twee c86 band. Lots of my friends hated them. If only they listened to them properly. Such a great band.

Powerful stuff from Pixies. Great cover of someone's hairy back as well.

Microdisney get the big record company push from Virgin, but still continue to put together great songs.

The cover is great, especially with the sticker over part of the title. This is another great Blast First album. Columbian Necktie is horific!

A new direction for Jesus and Marychain. Where was all the feedback? There are some great songs on here.

Come On Pilgrim is actually my fav for 1987, but it being an EP and all, I had to put it aside :(

UT were a no wave girls band. They have an amazing guitar sound, well for the post-punk fetish I am anyway :)
Opal are a neopsychedelic-dream pop band with the guy from Mazzy Star and Dream Syndicate.
Pleased To Meet Me has awesome tracks Iike "The Ledge" which I never tire of.
