Solid EP. They would do much better in their following 2 albums though.

Hard for me to separate this from Surfer Rosa, as I grew up on the combined disc. But given the high esteem we all have for Surfer Rosa, that's just a testament to how similarly good this material is.

Filled with incest, screaming, and sexual frustration. Fun for the whole family.

This EP is like a shorter "Surfer Rosa". Surprisingly good.

This is another level of music, no EP can be this perfect. EVERY song is perfect, and when they released the Surfer Rosa & Come ON Pilgrim compilation, it was surprising to say that every track was perfect. Seems like the Pixies had a bright past that apparently disappeared in Bossanova. Sorry for my bad english.

Contains all of the controlled anger and expert songcraft of their later work, but presented in a rawer, less polished form. In a short 8 tracks, Come on Pilgrim covers enough territory musically to contain everything from the brash alt-rock that led to the alternative rock explosion of the nineties, to what are essentially just brilliantly crafted pop songs. This is a frustrated band, just as it is an ambitious one, and Come On Pilgrim (while not technically being a full album), exhibits both their intense ambition, and their ability to match that ambition by way of turning frustration into art such that it feels entirely natural and effortless

I know it's just an EP - but this is miles better than Bossanova, and in a different solar system than Trompe De La Monde. Fantastic tracks throughout, would be nice to have more of them!
