1988 was a year where I had very little money. I had moved into a flat with my future wife, I was unemplyed and about to start teacher training college. No money for the next 4 years.

I love the soundscapes in this album. I can't find anybody that likes this. Everyone else hates it.

I was so skint in 1988 that I could rarely afford to buy new vinyl. A mate gave me a tape of this album and I used to play it over and over.

The Fall are my favourite band and they produced loads of great albums. There will be plenty in my charts. I had to save up for a few weeks to be able to get this one.

This is a wonderful debut album. I love Vini Reilly's noodling on this album. As soon as I heard it I knew it was him.
