"Morrissey's solo debut pretty much carried on where the Smiths left off, it was certainly on a par with Strangeways Here We Come, which had appeared only 6 months prior. This was a very nostalgic collection of songs for Morrissey which very clearly reached back into the early 70's. Viva Hate was ..."  [+]  Reply

"This album defined how rock N' roll riffs and solos would look like from ten years and so on, It is a remarkable stand point on 50s guitar music, and Chuck is the first guitar god from Rock History."  Reply

"Don't believe all the negativity on this. For my money this is a very very good album. From top to bottom it really holds up. "Gravity" is a highlight, unbelievable blues guitar there. "Vultures" and "I Don't Trust Myself With Loving You" have a very well executed soul/funk sound with excellent g..."  [+]  Reply

"This album never bores me. It may be his most commercial, but it is still very musical and comical. There are a handful of people who could write a line like "He took a dog-doo snow cone and stuffed it in my right eye," and make it groove. And Zappa made it groove indeed."  Reply

"Barely saved from the doom of oblivion thanks to the band's international name and its singles, this album is horribly weak for me. I am not able to listen to the whole Juicebox song without hating myself and the bassist of this band. However, Razorblade is an amazingly fun song, and YOLO is... w..."  [+]  Reply

"It is as if the limitations of the English language are a barrier on this album, because there is so much weight and significance put on every syllable of every word, and it still doesn't feel enough. You have to listen to this with the same intensity as Mike puts into it to get on the same wavel..."  [+]  Reply

"A very pleasant album. The instrumentation is lush and diverse and the melodies are blissful. At times the lyrics are kind of iffy and some songs overstay their welcome a tad, but its forgivable because as a whole this album is a beautiful experience."  Reply

Every song on here possesses something that you will enjoy and every track is at least good if not better. "Forever thankful for this album because it got me into electronic music. Personally to me it is one of those moments where you are like "Wow I didn't know music can sound like this". Objectively speaking, this album does have flaws and has some filler tracks mostly because CC just wanted to put o..."  [+]  Reply
