An amazing album. Pink Floyd were at their experimental best at this point introducing synths like the VCS Synthi used in On the Run. There are no weak tracks, the whole album flows beautifully. Stand out tracks for me are Time and Money. Although there are references to Sid all over Wish You Were Here I do wonder if any tracks on DS associate with Sid. Progressive Space Rock. The best album in the Gong catalogue in my opinion. Not keen on Prostitue Poem but aside from that track it is excellent. Such a mixture of styles, rock, jazz, psychedelia. Luck enough to own on clear vinyl. [First added to this chart: 08/07/2020]

I agree that this is one of the best debut albums of all time and Skynyrd's best. Where would the original version of Skynyrd be now had it not been for the plane crash? Up there with The Stones, The Who, U2, Pink Floyd? and that's just album sales... [First added to this chart: 03/12/2021]

I am lucky enough to own a clear vinyl version with the original cover, not the cover in the picture on this site. Superb album from probably one of the most way out there bands at the time or maybe even since. I love the jazzy rockin groove of the title track. The musianship of this band often goes unnoticed, they tend to be remembered for the wacky elements. [First added to this chart: 02/28/2021]

Possibly overshadowed by the Prog masterpiece with it's iconic cover, In The Land of the Grey and Pink', this album is equally brilliant yet quite different. One of those where you discover more with each listen. [First added to this chart: 09/02/2021]

The album certain members of Yes never liked apparently. I don't understand why, I really like it. One of the best prog album sleeve designs of the era with some truly progressive music to immerse oneself in! [First added to this chart: 09/04/2021]

I have a theory about great album covers and great albums which I will often reference in comments. This is a classic example, fantastic cover with an amazing album within. Did Budgie want to be taken seriously though, with track names like 'You're the Best Thing Since Powdered Milk' and 'In the Grip of a Tyrefitters Hand'. The thing I love about Budgie is that they moved from really heavy material to the almost ethereal like 'You Know I'll Always Love You'. Great drum solo at the beginning of 'Powdered Milk'. The guitar work on 'Parents' is superb! Get it on vinyl if you can. [First added to this chart: 03/26/2022]

In my opinion this is their best album from the Ozzy era, the cover is perfect for the album and band name. It certainly is more melodic than some of their other work, not a weak track on the album and a good flow from track to track. [First added to this chart: 10/17/2020]

I've been after a decent copy of this on vinyl for years. Today that moment has come. It is an awesome album, very diverse which suitably depicts the different characters of Henry's wives. If you are into analogue keyboards, then this is a must have album, keyboard lovers can salivate over the opened gatefold photo, where the sound sources are noted for each of the keyboards. Another great Roger Dean cover. Another great prog album showcasing the mighty Mellotron. Greenslade were at that time a twin keyboard player act with no lead or rhythm guitar. What was missing in guitar parts they certainly made up for in keyboard parts. 'Bedside Manners are Extra' and 'Sunkissed You're Not' are personal favourites. [First added to this chart: 04/07/2022]

Really great start and love the notes. Makes it very personal and far more interesting. Been meaning to do this for my charts but never get round to it.
