I have lived in Jacksonville my entire life, and I am so proud of these guys. I consider Street Survivors to be their final album. They never released a really bad song.
One of the best Southern rock bands of the 70s. I agree with most people that the band has changed very much after the plane crash. I also think that this band is very underrated on this website since I thought their rank would be higher.

Best Southern Rock band of 70's. But without Ronnie Van Zandt, dead in a plane crash, the band is not the same.

Sadly, I think those that are ignorant of Lynyrd Skynyrd lump them in the same category as Nazareth, Kansas, and REO Speedwagon. Just because Skynyrd sold out arenas in the 70s doesn't mean they are soulless arena rock. I'd liken them more towards the Allman Brothers. They play great guitar driven southern rock. Their playing is sublime, their lyrics topical, and their melodies catchy. Skynyrd is woefully underrated on BEA.
