Sgt. Pepper's marks a perfect middlepoint between the catchiness of the earlier Revolver and the experimentation of the later album Abbey Road.

Absolutely genius. But the reason this comes in as number 2 is that it's a little TOO weird when compared to Sgt. Pepper's.

If the White Album was shorter, I'd probably rank it as the number 1 Beatles album. Most of the songs are incredible, and the White Album acts as the best Beatles album to associate with their pioneering of the pop rock genre and reinventing music permanently.

I think it's too typical of a pop album to give a 5-star rating, but A Hard Day's Night is still a lot of fun.

Even if Let It Be is in the bottom half of all Beatles albums, I still think the band ended their group career on a high note.
