I always loved Strawberry Fields, perhaps it's my favourite Beatles track, but can't put this album into the chart, because the 1st side is terribly disappointing.
Best tracks: I Am The Walrus, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields Forever
CD2 is absolutely GREAT! Strawberry Fields Forever is my favourite Beatles Song
Strawberry Fields Forever / Penny Lane was always my favourite single album. after it, "I am the walrus"and "All you need is love", they are two Lennon's best songs. So if this isn't great concept album or their refined work like Revolver or Sergent Pepper.. But this is Best Compliation of best singles.
I consider this a compilation so I won't put it on my list. Had this be a "true album" it would probably be ranked in the 20s.
Side 1 of this album is not bad, with I Am the Walrus being a remarkable song, but side 2 is just ridiculous. Tracks 6-11 are all psychedelic masterpieces. It was almost unfair to include their singles on a studio album.
As in most Beatles albums, there’s filler (“Flying,” “Blue Jay Way” and “Baby You're A Rich Man” but this curiosity also contains some of their highest highs: “I Am the Walrus,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Penny Lane,” and “Fool on the Hill.” To have those four songs on one record is staggering. I would have liked to have been there when they talked John into putting on the fuzzy suit for the cover shoot. Probably the beginning of the end of the Beatles.
De principio a fin, todos clásicos.
If you erase Hello Goodbye it is maybe Beatles strongest set of songs.
This album has great songs, which, most of them were released as singles and later compiled in the B side. It has some of the best Beatles songs ever, such as "Strawberry Fields", "Penny Lane" and "I Am the Walrus", mixed with some of the Beatles weakest efforts: "Flying", "Bue Jay Way", "Baby You're a Rich Man".
