A superb song cycle that relies on feel as much as structure, if I could only remember my name, is easily David Crosby's greatest solo LP. Every track is wonderfully inventive, Crosby gives us something that's probably more from the heart than the head. The album includes the epic, cowboy movie, the excellent, what are their names, and the haunting final two tracks, Orleans, and, I'd swear there was somebody here, a beautiful tribute to his late girlfriend. IICORMN, is a beautiful record.

On first listen, i thought it was a bit weak until I listened to 'Song with no words', which is beautiful, and slightly amazing. The last two song are also good. Listen to this 2-3 times, and you'll really like it.

Over the last few days, I haven't been playing anything other than this...The playing is sublime and, Outlaw, I guarantee you will eventually be rewarded.
This is an album of contrasting but perfectly pitched harmonies and exquisite musicianship that transports you to a different dreamlike dimension.
As well as Crosby, renowned contemporary artists in their own right such as Neil Young, Grace Slick, Joni Mitchell and Jerry Garcia coverge together as one.
The resulting impression is of a group of exceptionally gifted musicians and artists at the peak of their creative powers...In particular, Garcia's peddle-steel guitar playing is phenomenal.
This album works on every conceivable level and is a MUST for any top 50 list.

A great stoner record. David Crosby's debut solo album probably isn't for everybody. He's definitely trying to experiment with the wordless harmonies on this album and his reliance on that caused critics to call it lazy and stupid. If I Could Only Remember My Name is a great vibe. Its chock full of Laurel Canyon musicians as well.

My first listen of this and I feel that it is "just right". The singing is good, I like the guitars, the overall feel of the album is pleasant. No major highlight which sticks above the rest though. Maybe during subsequent listens it will become more special. I know there will more be listens.
