Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 81.4/100, a mean average of 80.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

This record captures that homely feel perfectly making it so easy to pick up and play over and over again as you just feel safe. This is primarily due to Carole King's stunningly warm vocal display which is so delicate and smooth and it makes every song sound grand. Add on top of this the incredible song writing which is a beautiful demonstration of how intelligent she was with the use of her words. The songs are just so full of emotion with just the lyrics and then you add on top her amazing voice which perfectly capture the themes and style she is going for. Instrumentally, it falls in line with this same style and has strong performances across the board with the piano work being a highlight for me. This all comes together to form an extremely cohesive record where everything matches up in style, tone, atmosphere and quality making it an extremely consistent listen. Overall, this is an album where the cover captures exactly what you should expect in the music which is a personal, homely release where Carole King shines the whole way through and shows to us how brilliant she is as a musician.
This album is excellently produced and she has magnificent warm voice.
A comfy, old sweater of an album.
Best album by a female artist during the 1970's
Extraordinaria colección de canciones, muchas de ellas convertidas en clásicos intemporales. Una de las mejores cantautoras que haya dado el rock.

One of the great albums with so many classic tracks. It is a hit machine!
an aptly named album loaded with hits from top to bottom

This album is a classic because for the songs you can hear here they are very special.
Wow, where did this come from? Before listening to it, I was somehow pretty sure I wouldn't be able to connect with this. Totally unexpected, it blew me away. This is what pop heaven sounds like, so many catchy tunes. This kind of albums are usually based on two or three hits and the rest is the so called "filler". Here every song is a hit.

I only really have one complaint about this album, I think the vocals are mixed very strangely. They feel claustrophobic, like she’s in a very small closet. Other than that, I like every aspect of this album; the instrumentation, the writing, the performances. All these aspects work with each other in a fantastic way.
I also just wanted to let Brad1770 know that when you look up easy listening smooth FM friendly rock music, this is not the first album cover to come up. As of now, it's actually Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Which I feel is a bit inaccurate.
