Glaring gaps from my first run through: punk (non-post), prog, metal, electronic, dance, funk, ambient. There's also no "world music" (African, Brazilian, Caribbean, etc.), but it's not like BEA gave me any to pick from 😕 and I think there are a good amount of seeds pre-WWII. And classical will be mostly fine.
Now for a couple swaps:
Low - David Bowie & Pink Moon - Nick Drake
This adds some much-needed electronic and ambient elements to the mix. Blue and pre-WWII music provide enough folk cover for the swap.
Abbey Road - The Beatles & The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars - David Bowie
I don't want Bowie overrepresented, although it's sad to say goodbye to glam rock. And Abbey Road actually does have a significant musical diversity edge, bringing in some helpful seeds of hard rock, indie pop, and psychedelia.
Apparently I'd just listen to classical music... hehe. Kidding aside, I suppose here's me go. (if you are looking for my favorites/you can just look at my charts basically... 🤣 )

Hmmm... since this is a human history thing, I'd likely go with The Clash's London Calling... not only is it the more dynamic album of the bunch musically, I might be able to cheat and talk about Elvis too.

Oh damn this was tough - the wordsmith of Kendrick vs Bob and then The Doors... since I already have a psychedelic lush soundscape represented with The Beatles, and Bob's album I actually don't find it as good as Kendrick's, it's an easy cultural slam dunk to use:

Oh damn... this was a tough choice between Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis. With A Love Supreme later, and while I already have psychedlia pretty well covered again with Beatles, there's a bit of soul roots here I desperately want to represent, and the way Jimi Hendrix plays guitar - there's probably nobody I'd want to represent guitar music more. And I'd take that again over Bob... sorry Bob, you deserve a place here, just not finding one yet.

Anyone who knows me, knows I'd be picking U2 here... and well, you are right. haha. I was actually going to try and represent blues rock, but the more I think about it, I'd rather have humanity have a taste of alternative rock that pierces the soul.

Damn - another tough one. Many favorites for different reasons, but in the end this goes to Astral Weeks... Pink Moon almost took the cake. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about Oasis. Low... damn... there's just way too many good choices here (breaks my heart I'm not choosing a R.E.M. album, but yeah - this is it:

There's a pretty good chance I'd pick this album to just represent the last 70 years. I feel like it almost does it all musically. Perhaps not representing soul/funk/hip-hop very well, but so many genres are represented here in my opinion. Close second would be Marvin Gaye - hard not to chose that here. Damn... I'd be putting this capsule together and regretting the rest of my life... haha... (also fitting there's an alien here... possibly placate the new visitors?)

Was going to possibly give pop a chance to shine here with Kate Bush, Michael Jackson or trip-hop... maybe give another hip-hop album representation, but with Miles Davis out, this jazz masterpiece must take the place here (the drumming here tho... 🤤 )
Having said that... there could be a replacement here seeing as this is really matured jazz - I wouldn't be surprised if this type of music would eventually get here? Can't think of a pre-1945 jazz record like this though! hehe

I know this is cheating, but I was just curious and I easily would choose something from the 11th page over the 10th (Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Metallica - if it's my favorite, then VU, but no), but since it is limited to the 10th page I'd normally select Kraftwerk to represent electronic music, but if I had to pick something here it'd easily be:
