1983, very easily. 'The Man Whose Head Expanded' is the best single on either team (shout out to 'Dear Mama' though), and I prefer Murmur and Swordfishtrombones to any of those 1995 albums. Every artist on that 1995 team has released much better stuff, and only Tri Repetae and Red Machine even rival 1983's third and fourth best albums (the ones that aren't by Dio - and even then, I quite like Holy Diver too). So yeah, easy decision here.

With the '83 track record, I figured this would be an easy choice for me, but Infinity pulled out a fantastic team here and gets my vote. Two albums in my top 100 is hard to go against.

The '95 team is also very good though. I'm not a fan of that Yo La Tengo album, but the rest of team is fantastic.

1983 Almost lost all my support with that Violent Femmes album. However, even with, I prefer '83 to '95 this round. Both are at least really solid, but that album and singles set in 83 (Kate Bush and This Mortal Coil?! Yes!!!) won me relatively easily.

Still too much Violent Femmes.

Much better team from '83 this time. '95 still looking strong (Viva Last Blues is an underrated splendour + Tilt + Autechre), so I'll listen to Dio and it will be the decider.

Looks like I have a record of going up against the best teams my opponent has ever put out. Time to put on my rabbits foot and rub together my golden horseshoes.

83 has got some fantastic albums and singles, but to borrow a phrase from Mecca 95 is much more consistently my thing.

1983 has some fantastic albums, but I'm no fan of Dio. 1995 has Fugazi... Still making up my mind.
