Hi all,
I don't listen to hip-hop a whole lot, but ever since Grey Area came out last year I am a big Little Simz fan, and now I am enjoying her earlier discography. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to other good British artists cause I am really digging this sound.

The Streets is a seminal project by Mike Skinner, this is one of the most innovative UK hip hop records, if you're looking for that. And also one of my favourites.

If you're just looking for typical Grime sound, Kano, Dizee Rascal and Wiley are probably the place to start. Anyways you should wait for Skinny's response, I'm sure he'll have the best answer to this.

Thanks, I gave Original Pirate Material a listen and thought it was pretty nice. Quite poetic, and even some sort of meditative moments. The opener "Turn The Page" may have been my favorite, along with the closer, "Stay Positive". I didn't like the second half of the album as much overall, though I appreciate some of the British humor in the lyrics which reminded me a bit of some classic rock groups. Maybe not something I would personally want to listen to a lot, but it's definitely an impressive work. I think the lyrics got me through the album, but his style of rapping maybe isn't my favorite. Like I said, I'm not a huge hip-hop boy, but I'm making a conscious effort to try out some new stuff.
I have a bunch of recommendations to try out over the next few days. Out of the artist mentioned, I do like MF Doom and MIA, and King Krule though I have not listened to his hip-hop album which was mentioned. Can't say I've heard anyone else recommended though, so I will try this stuff out.

Honestly I didn't listen all the way through to all of these albums, but checked at least part of all of them out. I think I probably like Dizzee Rascal and Loyle Carner the most. Swet Shop Boys and Onoe Capoe I did not get all the way through, but both sounded fun and quirky even if I couldn't really get into it.
