Easily Bruce's best album from his strong discography, and one of the greatest albums of all time. A+ songwriting, both music and lyrics.

Favorite track: Atlantic City & Highway Patrolman (tie)
Least favorite track: Open All Night

Directly turned me into a Springsteen fan.
This is pretty much everything I love and want:

Emotion
Folk/singer-songwriter
Demo/lo-fi/one-take
Imperfection
Stories
Melodiousness
One-man show
Simplicity
Not too long a length (40 minutes)

If I were to update my top 100, this will be in it, arguably crack the top 50!!!!!

I forgot how I came across this record, but I remember judging it before even listening to it by it being simply a Springsteen album. Heartland rock and piano rock was just something I wasn't interested in, but I gave it a shot anyway. I was so wrong. I was not expecting such a gorgeous and haunting folk album. Quickly became one of my favorite albums ever.

I love this album.

I have so many favourite Springsteen albums I can't just pick one.
This is probably near the top at the moment, if not my current fave.
I play Atlantic City a lot.
But it changes from week to week.

Woulnd't call this his best album, but it's truly fantastic and a unique entry in his discography at that point. He had some other albums in this vein later on, but none came close.
Highway Patrolman is fantastic, followed closely by Nebraska and Atlantic City, but the whole album is truly excellent.

The loveliest Springsteen album. Top 2 along with Darkness On The Edge Of Town.

I don't like it that much. Very Happy
For my ears average acoustic singer songwriter stuff. I prefer the boss, when he's rockin'. Very Happy

If this is average, what would you consider to be above-average acoustic singer/songwriter stuff?
